Welcome to Awal LM (awallm.com), an independent open-source Artificial Intelligence platform dedicated to the Amazigh language (Tamazight in native Tifinagh script), founded and maintained by Rachid Nichan.
We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency regarding how information is collected, stored, and utilized. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices for users visiting our web interface and developers integrating our REST API.
02.Information We Collect
A. Account & Registration Data
When you create a free account on Awal LM, we collect your email address, an optional display name, and your password. Passwords are cryptographically hashed using industry-standard bcrypt; we never store or have access to your plain-text password.
B. Chat Prompts & Responses
When you converse with Awal LM, prompts are processed by our pure C++ neural engine to generate responses in real time. For unauthenticated guests, conversation history is kept locally in your own browser via localStorage and is not permanently attached to an identity profile.
C. Community Corrections & Linguistic Data
When you submit a correction through the "Teach / Correct" tool, your suggested Tifinagh phrase, original prompt, and optional name/email are submitted to our review queue so that administrators can evaluate and verify accuracy before adding it to our open training dataset.
D. Developer API Usage & Quotas
For users using the Developer API (/api/v1/chat), we generate a unique secret API key (sk_awal_...) and log token usage and remaining quota balances to provide accurate service and enforce usage limits.
E. Server & Security Logs
Like most web services, our servers log request timestamps, IP addresses, and user-agent strings. These logs are used strictly for rate limiting (powered by Redis), DDoS mitigation, and security auditing to protect the platform against automated abuse.
03.How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the service: Serving conversational responses and powering developer API integrations with minimal latency.
- To advance the Amazigh Language Dataset: Verified language corrections submitted by the community are aggregated to enrich vocabulary and syntax accuracy.
- To safeguard platform security: Enforcing guest limits, preventing brute-force login attacks, blocking vulnerability scanners, and stopping bot spam.
- To assist with manual token purchases: Facilitating manual account upgrades when you communicate with us via email.
04.Data Protection & Privacy Guarantees
No Selling or Commercial Renting of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or email addresses to third-party data brokers, advertising corporations, or marketing companies. Our mission is linguistic and technological preservation, not data monetization.
